So far, most of my students have reached out by recommendation from other students (thank you, everyone!). Considering the current online "climate", bursting with content to the point of saturation, I must say it is an absolute blessing. My previous job required posting lots regularly. Looking back, I was quite disconnected from enjoying the present, because I was constantly preoccupied with collecting material to post... until burnout hit! This time around, a different cockerel sings, word-to-mouth has taken care of marketing, so I can keep the advertising part to a gentle, slow rhythm, allowing me to focus on preparing materials for class without building up stress.

As a thank you, I like to give those who recommend me a little something, so here is my little Refer-a-friend system:

Whenever a new student, recommended by an active or former student, pays for their first 10 classes, the student who recommended me gets a free class.

To clarify, it is not limited to friends. They can be family members, coworkers, partners, housemates, acquaintances, etc.

Some specifications (conditions, or even boundaries, if you will):

  1. The first 10 classes of the new student may be acquired individually, or through class packages.

  2. The refer-a-friend system applies to active students, meaning with ongoing packages or classes, or former students that have had their last class within the natural year. This boundary is not rigid, and I am willing to negotiate exceptions, for example, if someone can't afford the classes in the first place. Ultimately, exceptions are at my discretion.

  3. The 10 classes purchased by the new student don't include service exchange arrangements, so they have to be remunerated financially. However, if the student doing the recommendation is part of a service exchange agreement, they will receive the class.

  4. If for whatever reason you don't want or can't use your free class, you can give it to someone else. You can also donate them to the "class fund" I am working on. I still don't have it all worked out, but if you donate it I will make sure it gets used by someone who needs it. Just get in touch so we can arrange things.

  5. Mine is a small business, and things are done analogically, so please, no later than the new's student first interview/ free class, make sure to tell me:

    1. that you have recommended me to someone, ideally provide some sort of identifying information that doesn't breach their privacy.

    2. who recommended me to you, provided it doesn't breach their privacy and they want the free class, of course.

  6. As per general terms and conditions, I reserve the right to revoke referring privileges to individuals that may be using it for evil or in any sort of deceptive way.

  7. Also in line with terms and conditions, I reserve the right to change the conditions and specifications of the referral scheme, at any point. I will notify you, verbally or in writing.

As per usual, if you have any doubts, just let me know. Good learning, everyone!
